A new immersive installation at the Spyscape Museum explores the creative process behind the movies while revealing the secrets of James Bond’s iconic Aston Martin DB5. Investigate gadgets in Q’s lab, discover original concept art in Oscar®-winning Production Designer Sir Ken Adam’s studio and peek behind the scenes of Skyfall’s explosive finale.
The 1.5x scaled up Aston Martins were digitally dissected, cataloged and prepared for the 3 -axis CNC milling process. They were milled out of sheets of R- 4 Faced Polystyrene Foam Board Insulation. The layers were then glued, sanded, hard coated for sculpting, and detailing. The vehicle needed to be a precise representation of the given digital model for dynamic projection mapping surfaces. Other scenic props and set designs were fabricated to spec enhancing the James Bond cinematic experience.
